My name is Edgar Vargas, and I am an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder. I hold a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Houston. I have worked as a Spanish and Linguistics instructor in Colombia, France, England, and the United States. I was part of a Fulbright project in Central Asia during summer 2018. My research interests are in sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics, Heritage language teaching, and Spanish for specific purposes. My most recent publications are "Linguistic Attitudes of Parents in Colombian and Mexican Families in Houston: A Qualitative Study", and Percepciones de los estudiantes de español sobre la creación de un curso para la carrera de comunicación.
